The Cultures and Religions of India

There is much variety in the regions of India, but most tourists will start with the "Golden Triangle" that encompasses New Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. On the banks of the river Yamuna, Delhi is the capital of India. Fascinating attractions include the Lotus Temple, icons of Hindu culture, Ikscon, India Gate and The Qutub Minar that was built in 1199 and features a minaret and an iron pillar that remains un-rusted.

In Agra, The Taj Mahal is an extravagant monument of love and one of the most visited and most photographed places in the world. Taj Mahal was the culmination point of Indo-Persian architecture. Popular souvenirs here are hand carved marble items that mimic the intricate work of the temple. The nearby Red Fort is another jewel in Agra's impressive crown.
