Brad Pitt
Nominated for Best Actor for his work on Moneyball, Brad Pitt appears in a sharp Gucci tux.

The birthday girl, Pan Am star, and award presenter wears a gold Givenchy number with sparkle provided by Bulgari jewels.

Colin Firth arrived with wife Livia (in custom Paul Smith). In a fun moment from the ceremony, Best Actress award winner for The Iron Lady, Meryl Streep, lost her shoe, just like a modern day princess. And, Firth was there to rescue her.

 Daniel Radcliffe
The Harry Potter and Woman in Black star (in Antonio Azzuolo) presented the Best Supporting Actress award to The Help's Octavia Spencer.

Adding to the night's sparkle trend, the British actress wore a Luisa Beccaria tiered gown, which she accessorized with a gold Diane von Furstenberg clutch.

 George Clooney
Clooney was nominated for Leading Actor for The Descendants and for being part of the team nominated for Adapted Screenplay for Ides of March.

The Jane Eyre and Showtime's The Borgias star came dressed in a whispy Valentino princess dress.

The French actor and comedian, pictured with his wife actress Alexandra Lamy, won the Leading Actor nod for The Artist.

The Supporting Actress nominee for The Help wore a sparkling Oscar de la Renta gown with Harry Winston jewels and Jimmy Choos.

Along with Mad Men co-star, Christina Hendricks, Hamm presented at the awards. He looked dashing in a Tom Ford tuxedo with satin peak lapels, a matching satin bow tie and black patent lace-ups.

Jonah Hill
Vastly slimmed down since filming the Brad Pitt starter, Moneyball's Hill was nominated for Supporting Actor for his work on the film. 

 Kenneth Branagh
Branagh was nominated for Supporting Actor for his work on My Week With Marilyn starring Michelle Williams.

Martin Scorsese
Scorsese's first family film, Hugo, had been nominated for nine awards but went home with just two, for sound and production design. The Armani-clad director was also nominated for documentary film, George Harrison: Living in the Material World. In addition, BAFTA honored him with a fellowship celebrating his life in cinema.

Winner of the Best Actress Award for The Iron Lady, Streep heated up the red carpet with a plunging gown from Vivienne Westwood.

 Michael Fassbender
Nominated for Leading Actor for his work on Shame, Fassbender wore a Giorgio Armani tux made from ethical wool as part of the green carpet initiative at the awards.

 Penelope Cruz
The 37-year-old Spanish actress wore a custom strapless Armani Prive gown with Chopard jewels.

 Steve McQueen
Starring Michael Fassbender, the writer-director's Shame was nominated for Outstanding British Film.

 Tilda Swinton
The 51-year-old actress, who wore an ivory Celine gown, was nominated for Best Actress for her work in We Need to Talk About Kevin.

 Tom Hooper
The King's Speech director presented the award for cinematography to The Artist's Guillaume Schiffman.

Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer
The Help actresses take a moment to pose together on the red carpet. Davis wore a custom eco-friendly Valentino creation using fabric made from recycled plastic bottles. Spencer wore a Tadashi Shoji gown and took home the award for Best Supporting Actress.
